Almijara

Type of visit:

The visitor of our wineries will walk through our facilities where you will receive an explanation of the whole process that is carried out to obtain our wines (vineyards, paseros, presses, …), yesterday and today of its elaboration And of course a tasting of our wines. Visits must be arranged in advance and there will be no minimum number of people for them.

Bodegas Almijara began its journey there in 1993, when the production of its already known WINES JAREL began, and it is in the year 2000 that it adheres to the Denominations of Origin Malaga and Sierras de Málaga. During all these years and until the present time, we have been betting year after year on quality, working with total dedication so that our wines are the most current expression of the viticultural tradition of the area, having as a primordial base the muscatel grape, an undeniable sign of Our culture, and all this combining it with the most modern technology of the sector.

But the origin of our installations dates back to the 19th century, but not as a Bodega, but as a resin factory “La Resinera” (as it is still known by the locals), an activity that lasted until the years of the Spanish Civil War. This time, in which a whole town moved to the countryside to work the Muscat grape, specifically, the pass, pure craftsmanship, which still today, although to a lesser extent, survives. Many years later, back in the 70’s, it would become a Winery, but it was not until 1993 that “Bodegas Almijara” became consolidated in the sector.
